Kath Hughes of BVT tells us: “This Wednesday 14th September the next EVA that takes place in the village at 10.30am. The walk around the village starts from 7 Stocking Park Road. Environmental Visual Audit were set up in partnership with the local Police team and all residents are welcome to join. I have to advise that residents are not turning up to the EVAs. Please try and come as they were set up with you, our residents in mind so that you could hilight concerns to both us, the management team and the Police.”
Our local Police team conduct EVAs across many areas of Dawley & Hamlets they patrol. But they were only introduced here in Lightmoor after the first PACT meeting at the Oak Tree Centre. As Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator for Stocking Park Road & Little Green Avenue I explained to our new local Police that some of the NHW members I know felt a lack of Police presence in the village over time. What transpired was neighbourhood policing methods in Telford had changed. Also the CSOs & Police Officers had changed in our local team from when we last had a public meeting.
To address the concerns I had passed on and to fit with the new neighbourhood policing method in place the Police officer offered to talk to BVT to establish Environmental Visual Audits (EVA). Where our Local Police team will walk around the village with a BVT rep and residents are welcome to join to discuss any concerns they have.
So what do you think about local policing in Lightmoor? please leave a comment below we’d love to hear your views.
Unable to make the EVA but have something you’d like to discuss with local police. Do you know how to contact them….would you like this info on our blog?
