In 2009 we started a project to follow the lives and progress of children born in the village. We want to record and celebrate milestones in your child’s life which could include their first day at nursery or school.
We want to compile a “time watch” type record of photographs and perhaps film to show us in years to come how the village grew and prospered. This will form part of the “Lightmoor book” an important historical record of life in our village.
If you are willing to allow us to record your babies details including a photograph please let me know, and I will arrange to speak with you and explain the project in more detail.
We have plans to include the “Lightmoor babies” in projects such as the new Community Orchard where we will encourage families to allow us to plant a tree; specifically named for their child.
We would also like to record the birth of each child with a suitable commemorative gift.
If you are interested in helping us with this project please read below the early steps and how you can assist us.
THE FIRST STEPS
The first part of the project will be to record the dates and names of babies who have already been born in the Village. We would like to hear from expectant mothers so that we can include their basic details.
We would then be able to include the new babies details when they arrive!
We would refresh our database on an annual basis or when parents notify us of a new arrival.
From time to time we would like to take photographs and record significant events to include our newest residents and their Siblings.
Please be assured as a parent that all steps will be taken to ensure the safe storage of any information held, and that no publication will be made without a specific written consent being obtained.
All data held will be kept in accordance with the Data Protection Act and only used for the purpose specified within the project outline.
